Brief Microsoft Excel 2000 is a spreadsheet program. The class
jump starts with an Excel spreadsheet and works through the
concepts of managing workbooks, windows and sheets.
Entering, editing, formatting and printing worksheets is discussed
next.
Students learn to use Excel functions, Excel Add-ins, Excel
customization and Excel solution templates. This is followed by
creating charts and graphics. The class also discusses the
creation and use of Excel databases. This includes the advanced
topics of Query Wizard and using Microsoft Query. The class is
then led into data analysis. This includes items such as building
scenarios, auditing and validating worksheets, pivoting tables,
mastering Excel’s solver and Goal Seek and mastering the
Analysis ToolPak
Throughout the class the instructor presents a motivation,
discussion and online demonstration for each topic/function
available in Excel
2000.
The students then practice the topic/function on the
provided
systems using provided
detailed lab exercises.
